A vehicle that can drive against the wind – powered by wind energy only! That is what students of the University of Stuttgart design and build – the Ventomobile. It all began in 2007, where the basic concept was worked out and built. The vehicle won the first Racing Aeolus Race in Den Helder (The Netherlands) in 2008, along with the prices for the best design and public relations. In 2014, InVentus was second with 79.62%. Inventus was second in 2017.

InVentus-1The project enables students to gain experience in a wide field of different tasks, such as construction, computation, organization, PR, team work etc. It also gives an opportunity to use theoretical knowledge in real life, learning more about the problems that occur when a plan has to be turned into reality while building the vehicle. The following sites contain more information about the car and its functions, the team and the backgrounds of InVentus.
